Modification PCR arrays

PCR arrays that profile the expression of the proteins that write, read and erase RNA modifications, for laboratories that need the enzyme side of the epitranscriptome in their own hands.

01What this group covers

This group covers PCR panels that report the expression of the enzymes and protein factors that act on RNA modifications. The readout is gene expression: each assay measures the transcript of one modifier gene, not the modification level of any RNA.

The two panels split by RNA class rather than by mark. The epitranscriptomics panel covers the mRNA modification machinery across several marks, and the tRNA panel covers the enzymes that install and remove tRNA modifications. Both are a first look at a regulatory change in a sample series, ahead of any site-level work.

02The two PCR arrays

The panels are supplied in a standard plate format for common real-time PCR systems, including a variant prepared for the Roche Light Cycler 480, and each assay on them is a validated primer pair for one transcript.

NuRNA™ tRNA Modification Enzymes PCR Array (H)
Profiles the expression of 85 enzymes and protein factors involved in tRNA modification, compiled from research publications, UniProt and Modomics.
NuRNA™ Epitranscriptomics PCR Array (H)
Profiles the expression of 89 enzymes and protein factors validated or predicted for mRNA epitranscriptomic modifications, covering writers, readers and erasers.

03What these panels report

Every assay on the panels was validated across tissues and cell lines, and each panel ships with spike-in, positive PCR, genomic DNA and normalization controls, so the comparison between samples rests on a controlled plate rather than on individual reactions.

The composition of the panels is compiled from research publications and from authoritative databases including UniProt and Modomics, so the gene list follows the published modifier sets rather than a single paper.

Because the readout is expression, these panels answer a regulatory question: which writers, readers or erasers move between conditions. They do not measure how much modification sits on any transcript. That number comes from a modification service or from mass spectrometry.

04Reagents used with the panels

The panels are validated with the following reagents, and the same pairing is recommended on the product pages.

  • rtStar™ First-Strand cDNA Synthesis Kit for the reverse transcription step.
  • Arraystar SYBR® Green Real-time qPCR Master Mix for the amplification step.

05FAQ

Which RNA classes do the two panels cover?

The tRNA modification enzymes panel covers the enzymes and protein factors that install and remove tRNA modifications. The epitranscriptomics panel covers the mRNA modification machinery, including writers, readers and erasers. Between them, the two panels cover the enzyme side of mRNA and tRNA modification work.

Do the panels report modification levels?

No. Every assay measures the transcript of one modifier gene, so the readout is expression rather than modification. Modification levels are measured by a modification service or by LC-MS. The distinction matters: a panel can show that a writer, reader or eraser moved between conditions, but it cannot say how much m6A sits on a transcript.

Which species are the panels available for?

The panels listed here are human panels (H). Species and plate format are stated per catalog item on the product page, so a study that does not work in human samples should check the individual entry. The composition of each panel is compiled from research publications and from databases including UniProt and Modomics.

Which control assays are included?

Each panel ships with a spike-in control, a positive PCR control, a genomic DNA control and normalization references. The controls sit on the same plate as the assays, so the comparison between samples rests on a controlled plate rather than on individual reactions. Every assay on the panels was validated across tissues and cell lines.
