Company

About Us

Arraystar is a research-driven company focused on transfer RNA (tRNA) biology and epitranscriptomics. Since 2009 we have built an integrated portfolio of sequencing, microarray, PCR array, and mass-spectrometry technologies that help scientists decode tRNA expression, tRNA modification, and tRNA charging, together with tRF and tiRNA research. Our tools and services have supported more than a thousand peer-reviewed publications and thousands of research institutions worldwide.

Why tRNA-Focused?

Transfer RNAs were long viewed as passive adaptors that simply deliver amino acids to the ribosome. A wave of recent discoveries has overturned this picture: tRNAs are dynamically regulated molecules whose expression, modification, and charging states shape translation efficiency, protein folding, and cellular stress responses. tRNA isoacceptors and isodecoders carry distinct regulatory functions, and tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) and halves (tiRNAs) act as functional small non-coding RNAs in cancer, neurodegeneration, and metabolism.

tRNAs also carry the most chemically diverse set of post-transcriptional modifications of any RNA class, including m1A, m3C, m1G, m2,2G, m7G, and acp3U. These marks control codon reading, tRNA stability, and translation fidelity, and their dysregulation is increasingly linked to human disease. Profiling them accurately requires dedicated chemistry and bioinformatics, which is exactly what Arraystar has specialized in for more than a decade.

Our tRNA portfolio spans the three key determinants of tRNA function: tRNA Sequencing for expression, tRNA Charging Seq for simultaneous expression, modification, and charging, TRAC-Seq and HAC-Seq for single-nucleotide m7G and m3C detection, LC-MS for full-spectrum modification quantification, and PCR arrays plus pretreatment kits for high-throughput validation. Every workflow is paired with publication-ready bioinformatics.

Our Vision

Our vision is a complete, integrated view of tRNA biology: expression, modification, and charging profiled in the same experimental framework, then connected to translation, stress response, and disease. We aim to make tRNA and tRF/tiRNA analysis as accessible and reliable as mRNA analysis, with technologies that keep pace with the fastest-moving questions in the field.

Our Mission

Arraystar is committed to helping researchers decode the biology of tRNA and tRNA-derived molecules. We provide best-in-class sequencing, array, and mass-spectrometry solutions, rigorous sample-to-data workflows, and expert scientific support, so that labs of every size can turn tRNA questions into translational discoveries.

FAQ

Common questions about Arraystar

What does Arraystar specialize in?
Arraystar specializes in tRNA and tRF/tiRNA research, with an integrated portfolio of tRNA sequencing, tRNA modification sequencing, PCR arrays, pretreatment kits, and LC-MS based modification analysis. The company also serves the broader non-coding RNA and epitranscriptomics fields, but tRNA biology is at the core of our technology development.
How long has Arraystar been operating?
Arraystar was founded in 2009 and has since supported more than a thousand high-impact publications. Our client base includes thousands of research institutions worldwide, and our tRNA technologies continue to advance understanding of translation regulation, RNA modifications, and disease mechanisms around the globe.
What makes the Arraystar tRNA portfolio unique?
The portfolio covers the three key determinants of tRNA function in one place: tRNA expression by sequencing, tRNA modification at single-nucleotide resolution by TRAC-Seq and HAC-Seq, tRNA charging by tRNA Charging Seq, and full-spectrum modification quantification by LC-MS, together with PCR arrays and pretreatment kits for validation.
Which tRNA modifications can Arraystar profile?
Arraystar profiles m1A, m3C, m1G, and m2,2G simultaneously with tRNA Modification Seq, m7G at single-nucleotide resolution with TRAC-Seq, m3C with HAC-Seq, and a broad nucleoside spectrum with LC-MS based analysis, including acp3U and many other modified nucleosides across tRNA species.
Does Arraystar support tRF and tiRNA research?
Yes. tRF and tiRNA sequencing provides genome-wide profiling with precise annotation by sequence, type, length, and cleavage site, while the nrStar tRF and tiRNA PCR Array validates candidate fragments across many samples. Pretreatment kits and pre-designed primer sets complete the workflow.
