GlycoRNA refers to small non-coding RNAs carrying N-glycosylation, characterized by highly sialylated and fucosylated glycans. These glycosylated RNAs are localized at the cell surface and can interact with immune-regulatory receptors such as Siglecs, making GlycoRNA an emerging research topic in cancer, immunology, and neurological disease.
With GlycoRNA arrays as a core technology, Arraystar integrates GlycoRNA sequencing, GlycoRNA blotting, GlycoRNA PCR to establish a multidimensional glycosylation research platform. This integrated workflow provides systematic tools for investigating glycosylation mechanisms and discovering potential clinical biomarkers.
Research Services
The GlycoRNA array combines WGA-based GlycoRNA enrichment with array-based quantification, enabling simultaneous profiling of multiple classes of glycosylated small RNAs, including Y-RNA, tRNA, miRNA, snRNA, snoRNA, and rRNA.
Direct RNA labeling minimizes the impact of RNA modifications on reverse transcription, enabling sensitive detection of low-abundance GlycoRNA. The assay requires as little as 1 μg of total RNA and is compatible with diverse sample types, including cells, tissues, biofluids, and clinical biopsy specimens.
GlycoRNA sequencing is based on RNA-optimized periodate oxidation and aldehyde labeling (rPAL) chemistry, enabling efficient enrichment of GlycoRNA in its native state without requiring metabolic labeling in living cells.
This approach supports the de novo discovery of GlycoRNA, with broad compatibility across species and sample types. It provides a more comprehensive strategy for investigating GlycoRNA biology, molecular mechanisms, and disease-associated changes.
GlycoRNA PCR
GlycoRNA PCR uses WGA magnetic beads to enrich glycosylated RNA molecules, combined with an optimized reverse-transcription strategy for quantitative analysis of GlycoRNA expression.
Researchers only need to provide well-preserved tissue or cell specimens. The workflow integrates GlycoRNA enrichment, qPCR detection, and data analysis.
Based on a lectin-based Northern blot workflow, this assay detects endogenous glycosylated RNA without requiring Ac₄ManNAz metabolic labeling.
It is applicable to cell, tissue, and biofluid samples and enables comparison of GlycoRNA abundance and molecular-size profiles across samples. This assay can serve as an orthogonal validation approach for GlycoRNA sequencing and array-based profiling.
