Colorectal cancer (CRC) recurrence is common in Oxaliplatin (OXA) chemotherapy, with pyroptosis being one of the major factors. Through Arraystar circRNA microarray, circPDIA3 (hsa_circ_0002891) was found upregulated in OXA-resistant CRC tissues and closely associated with unfavorable clinical prognosis of CRC under OXA treatment [1]. CircPDIA3 can induce CRC chemoresistance by inhibiting pyroptosis via GSDME-C domain binding and circPDIA3/miR-449a/XBP1 positive feedback loop. This study provides insights into a novel mechanism of circRNA in regulating pyroptosis and a potential way to overcome CRC chemoresistance.
