Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Arraystar LncRNA Microarray was used to identify lncRNAs involved in atherosclerosis development in human atherosclerotic plaques vs normal carotid arteries [1]. lncRNA PSMB8-AS1 was identified and found to accelerates atherosclerosis and trigger vascular inflammation in Apoe −/− mouse model (Fig.1). The findings are significant for molecular pathology and intervention of long noncoding RNA in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
