Expanding m6A/m5C/m1A/ac4C/m7G/Ψ Epitranscriptomic Profiling

In addition to m6A as the most studied prominent internal epitranscriptomic modification in mRNAs and lncRNAs, other epitranscriptomic modifications, such as m1A, m5C, ac4C, m7G, and Ψ, have been increasingly discovered to play novel biological or clinical roles. These RNA modifications can modulate mRNA translation, alternative splicing, nuclear export and stability; affect RNA secondary structures and protein-RNA interactions; and regulate DNA repair. They are also involved in diverse cancers, viral infections, and pathogen infection-induced myelopoiesis.
