m2G modification in human tRNAs are installed by methyltransferases TRMT11, THUMPD3 and THUMPD2 activated by TRNA Methyltransferase Activator TRMT112 [1]. The functional effect of m2G modification on tRNA expression levels was analyzed by Arraystar nrStar™ tRNA PCR Array. m2A on tRNA is found necessary for optimal protein synthesis and for cell proliferation.
