On Arraystar Super-enhancer LncRNA microarray, a super-enhancer was found activated by TGF-/SMAD3 pathway to produce super-enhancer lncRNA LINC01977 [1]. LINC01977 tethers the SMAD2/3/4 complex in the nucleus and transcriptionally promotes the expression of ZEB1, the central switch of the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) that lead to lung adenocarcinoma progression and metastasis. These results highlight the potential of super-enhancer hijacked lncRNAs as prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for lung cancer.
